Portuguese Division Chair
 Elena Langdon is currently the supervisor of Interpreter & Translation Services at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA, where she oversees a staff of 45. Elena’s family immigrated to Brazil when she was eight years old, and she had the good fortune of growing up on the island of Florianópolis. She is certified by the American Translators Association (ATA) as a Portuguese-to-English translator and has worked as a medical interpreter throughout Massachusetts. She has an MA in Translation Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she also taught interpreting courses. Elena now teaches Portuguese translation at Boston University as part of the Community, Legal and Medical Interpreting certificate program.
