IMIA CEUs Paving the Way to Healthcare Access 2 day Conference

This 2-day in person conference targets medical interpreters both spoken language and American Sign Language (ASL) at all levels and is designed to create a platform for experts and learners in the field to come together and learn from each other. Participants are given a choice of multiple workshops so they can advance skills in the area they are interested in. Both days offer specialized workshops that focus on acquiring new and advance skills for interpreters and also stress the importance of ethics and the myriad of roles that interpreters must play. The informative training sessions discuss the challenges that medical interpreters face, the importance of developing standards and effective modes of interpreting in various settings. Conference further aims to cement the crucial role of medical interpreters in current healthcare settings and beyond. It covers interpreting in myriad specialized encounter settings such as mental health, genetics, pharmacology, chronic disease management etc. The conference is held annually. Theme for 2025 is “Bridging Language Trust and Advocacy”. This is our 20th year celebration too.
